My Picture Dictionary

There is nothing my little kinders love more than drawing. I swear I could leave them all day with just pencils, textas, crayons and paper, and they would be happy to draw all day long. So as I sat there* watching them drawing one afternoon I thought to myself why don't I take something they love so much and make it educational and help prepare them for pre-primary and beyond. That is how the 'My Picture Dictionary' set came about.

Welcome Kindy Cuties

Yes, that photo above is me, back in 1993 on my very first day of Montessori. I was so excited to go to school and learn. I carried that love of learning with me all the way through school, university, and even now as kindergarten teacher. I am so thankful to every teacher I had who opened my eyes to the wonder and magic of education. This is partly the reason I decided to become a teacher, so I too could inspire and help young children. 

I believe that the people who enjoy learning the most are those that had an enjoyable experience in their early school years. I use this philosophy to guide my teaching practice. Striving to make every lesson and learning experience enjoyable, interactive, engaging and most of all fun for my little learners. 

This blog is my creative outlet where I can share ideas, lessons, crafts, activities, and all sorts of teacher related content. I'm only in my first year of teaching, but hopefully as I grow in my confidence and ability, this blog will too.
